GE Washer
Customer complaint: Leaking washer. A puddle was noticed on the floor. She's not sure exactly. 5934. Initial visit (Nov 6) — Mike S: Reported concern The customer reported an issue with the washer, prompting a diagnostic inspection of the unit's operation. Assessment During testing, the unit produced a loud growling noise. Inspection behind the front panel revealed an ongoing water leak that has reached the drive belt, spreading moisture throughout the interior of the cabinet. The extent of the water intrusion and mechanical noise indicates severe failure of the transmission and tub assembly, which prevents normal wash and spin functions. Work performed The technician documented the internal damage and photographed the affected components. Due to the extent of the failure, a replacement of the transmission and tub assembly would be required. The customer was advised of the findings and elected to purchase a new appliance rather than proceed with repairs. Diagnostics are complete and the job is closed.
