Samsung Refrigerator
Customer complaint: Has power, but not cooling. Initial visit (Oct 20) — Mike S: Reported concern The customer reported returning from vacation to find spoiled food in the refrigerator due to a lack of cooling. The appliance was unplugged prior to the service visit. Assessment The unit was moved out from the wall and the rear cover was removed to inspect components and test power to the sealed system. Voltage checks confirmed that no power was reaching the compressor from the control board. Resistance testing of the compressor motor revealed that one winding read 3 ohms higher than the others, indicating internal compressor degradation. The elevated electrical demand from the failing compressor caused the main control board to short out. Next steps Resolving the issue would require replacing both the compressor and the main control board. Upon review of the diagnostic findings and estimated repair scope, the customer elected to purchase a new appliance rather than proceed with repairs.
