Initial visit (Oct 12) — Tim B: Diagnosis: Customer reports that the cooktop indicator light remains illuminated even when all burner controls are turned off and the cooking surface has cooled. Symptoms indicate a possible failure within the surface element control switch, allowing the indicator circuit to remain energized. Recommend testing the switch and associated wiring to confirm the failure, then replacing the defective switch to restore proper indicator light operation. replaced and tested unit and everything tested out okay. Parts installed: Range Surface Element Infinite Switch. Outcome: Repaired.
