Customer complaint: Not Working. Initial visit (Nov 4) — Tim B: Assessment Inspection of the microwave revealed that the magnetron superheated and suffered an electrical back-short, which damaged the main control board. This unit is over 16 years old and is a builder-grade model. The failure of both the heating source and the primary electronic control renders the microwave completely inoperable. Next steps Due to the high cost of replacement parts and labor relative to the value of the appliance, repair is not economically practical. Replacing the microwave with a new unit is recommended.
