Electrolux Dryer · Model EFME627UTT2

Customer complaint: Other EF1 FAULT, Not drying. Initial visit (Oct 15) — Tim B: Assessment Initial inspection revealed evidence of prior uncertified service, including multiple missing assembly screws, repositioned control wiring, and a missing main electrical cover, which leaves live electrical connections exposed. Diagnostic testing produced error code EF1 (indicating a thermistor fault), though both thermistors demonstrated correct continuity during testing. Work Performed During further inspection of the unit, a loose component was located on the floor near the dryer. This part had been improperly connected, causing an electrical back-short directly against the control harness plug and damaging the main control board. Next Steps The dryer is currently unsafe to operate due to the shorted control board, missing electrical shielding, and unverified components installed during the prior repair attempt. It is recommended to supply and install an OEM main control board, replace the missing electrical cover, and perform a complete system safety audit to confirm all installed parts meet manufacturer specifications. Issue of the cause? Accidental damage due to incorrect part install from outside service of American home shield. Outcome: Repaired.
